X-Ray Tetra –
Incredibly peaceful and often tolerant of the other species they share habitats with.
Also known as the Golden Pristella Tetra and the Water Goldfinch due to the faint golden colouration of their translucent skin. Transparency skin thought to be a form of protection.
This makes it much harder for predators find to spot them.
A bony internal structure known as the Weberian apparatus, which is used in picking up sound waves and contributes to their acute sense of hearing.
Diet: Omnivore
Lifespan: 2 to 5 years
Size: 3.2cm to 5cm
Habitat: Amazon coastal waters
Range: Brazil, Guiana, Guyana and Venezuela
