Dip Your Toes Into the HugglePets Pond & Wildlife Education Centre!

Have you heard? The newest addition to the HugglePets retail store is well underway, and we just can’t contain our excitement any longer!

After the implementation of our Sensory Aquarium in 2019 and our Reptile Room in 2022, we scratched our heads wondering where to go next, and we found ourselves going down the aquatic route again. But this time things are a little bit different. Thanks to the generous grant from Severn Trent, who support projects around the country that utilise water, we were able to make this dream into a reality.

For a while now, we’ve been committed to sustainability in our store by reusing water where we can, but when it comes to the environment, there’s always more that can be done. So, educating about sustainability plays a big part of our new room, which we’ve aptly dubbed the HugglePets Pond & Wildlife Education Centre.

In this brand new space, customers can browse from a range of pond fish, including goldfish and koi, in tanks crafted with natural wood, keeping within the environmental theme of the room. It’ll also be used in educational sessions with HugglePets in the Community, our non-profit sister company that works with young people by incorporating animal therapy.

In fact, there’s an opportunity for everyone to learn a bit more about aquaponics, which is how we’re reusing waste water from our pond to grow plants, fruits and vegetables that can be fed to our small pets. We know – this all sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, if you’re intrigued by all that this new room has to offer, then come down to our opening day on Thursday the 23rd of February! To find out more info, check out our Facebook event here.

We can’t wait to see you all there!
