Salvinia is a floating species, the strong hairy coat at the upper side of the leaves ensures the plant never fills with water and therefore easily floats.

The plant is green underneath, the top looks greyish down to the strong hair growth.

The plant grows easily, and can quickly cover the surface of the aquarium.

A great plant for fry and other surface dwelling fish such as guppys and hatchet fish.
