reading time: 2 minutes

Halloween Season is approaching which can only mean a few things… Tricks, Treats, and Trouble!!!

Here is a little acronym that can help you start and understand the process of keeping your pets calm through the harsh events upcoming. The Halloween season opens up a variety of events, such as trick or treating to fireworks displays.

We understand it can be hard to keep your pet calm when your TV is already on volume 57!

R: Reduce outside noise in your house by closing windows and curtains and turning on a television or radio

O: Occupy pets with games or toys on Halloween, this acts as a great distraction

C: Calm and quiet behavior should be rewarded, anxious and worried behavior should be ignored

K: Keep yourself calm – your anxiety can transfer to your pet

E: Early use of anti-stress aids such as DAP products can be beneficial

T: Timeout and safe area: pets often find their own safe place where they feel secure
